At my son's house watching college football and drinking dark beers. Very unusual for a Bourbon drinker. Good day for me.
Left Hand Brewing is one of his favorites. This French Toast is one I have enjoyed before. Soft, sweet maple aroma. Gentle texture, has the toast, bread, and maple they are trying to convey. Velvet finish with the same flavors.

I've had this beer before but I like it and want to have it again on the first NFL game of the season. Ryan and I are Duoing different beers tonight.
Very nice low alcohol milk stout. Has chocolate, coffee, toasted caramel, a touch of vanilla. Just what I needed.

Ryan and I are going to end the night with this Left Hand Brewing beer. Our last beer was a disaster, we need to end on a high note.
Not a lot of head, aroma has maple and caramel. Medium texture. Excellent maple flavor from the first. Next comes a soft sweet caramel with notes of vanilla. The finish adds a dry roasted coffee. Smooth and well balanced. Finish continues with a bitter roasted coffee.
As I continued enjoying the beer, the bitter roasted coffee finish starts to dominate the beginning of the next sip. As if it were building upon itself until it drowned out the maple. Cleansing the pallet with water helps and the maple becomes apparent again until the bitter finish again overwhelms.
I don't want to cleanse my pallet between sips and I don't want to wait 4 minutes between the next taste. Good beer but strange follow through.
Whaddya drink of that!?

To be honest I'm a bit disappointed tonight. 2 stouts with watery mouthfeel.
Well whatever....
It's not a bad stout, smells a little bit like French toast. Tastes like a normal milk stout with a hint of sweetness.
Overall it's average.
