Jungle Hop
6.0% India Pale Ale
It could be said that we’re pretty excited that we’ve now got our hands on everyone’s new favourite hype-hop, Strata. Our brewers have been practically clawing at the bags since our latest delivery landed and after making its debut in Humblest Pleasures, we’ve gone all out here on Jungle Hop. Featuring a huge 35kg added as a dry hop charge, this beer sings with a bluesy mix of fruit and dank weed notes so intense you’d think Hendrix himself had a part in cultivating it. Offsetting this intensity with a smaller addition of Idaho 7, we feel this cuts through with juuuust the right amount of pineapple sweetness to create our attempt at the perfect New England style IPA that makes us look on over at the United States at with such envy.

I reviewed this in August, i gave it 4.0 and mentioned tropical and dankness. I recommend reading that. This time round I'd agree with myself that pineapple is very strong and lovely. This brew is very smooth and luscious and worthy of my previous praise. There isn't wide complexity but the pineapple and dank resinous hops is all you need for a juicy as fook NEIPA.

Extremely hazy to the point of being opaque, even so there is visible carbonation in this beer with a attractive colour. Rich aromas of tropical fruit, prominently pineapple with dank weed. Idaho 7 and Strata team up well to produce a deep delightful and enticing smell. Silky smooth and soft mouthfeel with some hefty body and quite a long dank resinous hop finish. Beautiful. Fairly thick texture and a juicy tang along with the long dank weed taste progressing till the end. The medium to full body for an IPA adds to this brews weight, texture, dense tropical flavour and overall presentation. It's a big beautiful brew, whilst not very gulpable, it is morish so far as a death by chocolate cake is rich yet morish. This tastes like a hundred pineapples and a couple of ounces of weed had a baby. For criticisms sake.. for all the rich depth there isn't much complexity or variation in flavour. If there was another hop or two in this beer it would be huge and have complexity but it may be too much. It is great for what it is; a saturated dank tropical IPA. Bold flavour like a DIPA, silky smooth on it's way down and very pleasing for fans of pineapple.
