Another pale and hazy as fook number here by Polly's brew co.
Tropical, stone fruit, citrus and pine on the nose. More specifically lime zest with the subtle pine, apricot, peach and grapefruit.
No head retention and no visible carbonation through the haze.
Westy New England, that is to say the pine notes are notable throughout the tasting process and more pronounced on the tongue than the nose. Soft stone fruit like apricot and a bit of tangerine, with grapefruit, plus there's a floral note, an underlying subtly of rose which is quickly overlapped by the pine, the beers body, heft and alcohol.
This brew has complexity and depth if you go searching.
It has a soft mouthfeel and medium+ body.
I've had a beautiful Simcoe brew from Polly's recently that was very hoppy and juicy, very NEIPA-ish but this is a different beer. It's not a double dry hop fest it's a IPA with different strokes.
The pine and citrus seems to increase the heat of the alcohol and seeing as it's only a 6% that's not good.
This brew a big body sipper, you can't gulp it down like a refreshing Weiss or a morish juice fest but as you do sip you can pick up on different contributions each time.
