Haze Longue, England

Pale and hazy with fast dispersing head. Sharp tropical/citrus aroma with the smell of alcohol coming through. It's a bit confused and subdued but I can pick out pineapple, mango, grapefruit, mango and passion fruit. Classic NEIPA aromas and hopefully flavours to come.. It's quite soft and medium bodied with a sharpness, almost bitter citrus. It has a fast finish with a slight resinous hoppiness. I'll say it up front, I'm not very keen on this one. The blend of pineapple and grapefruit flavours are coming off harsh and almost unpleasant. It's not particularly bad, it's just compared to double dank the other day, this is poor. A mess of flavours with a bit of a grim aftertaste. Vic Secret - tropical Aussie hop, Citra Cyro - cyrogenic potency and Idaho 7 - stone fruit n pine. Maybe it's the double pine contribution from Vic Secret and Idaho 7 presented in a NEIPA, or it's the non-whole hop Cyro that's not exciting me. It tastes like a supermarket brew, like something that was made with margins in mind. Can't be the case however as this was made by Neon Raptor, a Nottingham small craft brewer, not found in supermarkets. It is starting to grow on me, after getting constant hits of sharp tropics and pine. Still, I'd rather have excessive whole hops.
