Freakin French Toast (2021), United States
4.6
This is a special 2021, two cans in a box, special edition Texas beer that my son-in-law picked up for us. Another Duo of course. He gave it a 4.5, I'm going with 4.6. Very low head that dissipates. Very light in color, especially for a 12% beer. Looks like a cola with plenty of light shining through the edges. Aroma has sweet maple and loads of that 12% alcohol. Texture is light, almost thin and soft. Very smooth and velvety in the mouth. Has a gentle combination of the whiskey barrel alcohol and sweet maple in a very well-balanced combination. As the finish arrives, a very soft buttery note brings the French toast flavor to completion. Excellent attempt at duplicating the French toast flavor. As I write this review, taking small sips along the way, I realize this 12% is making itself well known. Having this beer anywhere but at home mandates a designated driver.
