I was intrigued by Hege's review of this beer and wanted to experience it myself. The appearance is lucid yellow. Standard carbonation, some froth on the top, dies fast. Ginger lemonade is what I get in the scent. It means ginger, lemon zest and pith, maybe a whisper of wheat (that is not an ingredient to this beer). But not sugar though. The flavor cocktail is a medley of artificial ginger and bitter lemon pith and peel. A malty, but not wheaty..., baseline can be observed. Grass and a hint of pine needle in the shadows. And a strange soapy undertone therebeneath. The body is light. I didn't anticipate anything else, by the way. The end leaves a bitter ginger–citrus flavor in the mouth. Feels light, slightly tangy, pithy, synthetic, soapy, and spiced. It's self-evident that Veikko isn't a winner this time. Ginger Beer is a style in itself, liked by some, disliked by many. I'm not a huge fan of Ginger Beers but I'm open to good examples. Apologies, but this is not one.

Inkiväärin maku voimakas, niin kuin ginger beerissa pitää ollakin. Muuten kevyt ja hieman vetinen.

Taitaa olla ensimmäinen juomani inkivääri olut. Hieman siman väristä, aika vahva inkiväärin maku. Ihan juotava.

Medium full, dry body. Distinct ginger added with some malts in the feel of the body and as a taste on the aftertaste. Although there is some gingery warmth, I'd prefer even stronger ginger. Very well balanced product though, kudos for distinguishable malts.
