Another Martin House beer I brought back from Texas. After first opening of the can it gave a strong aroma of a mounds bar. Dark chocolate and coconut. Poured with a jet black color. Texture was soft but not as creamy as I thought it might be. Had a medium high very dark brown head. Slow to get a photo so it's not showing that. Flavor started with deep dark milk chocolate and quickly added on top of it an abundance of coconut. During the middle the 12% alcohol appeared with a very strong influence on the taste and lasted through the finish. And not in a good way. Finish also added deep roasted notes along with a rustic wood. I think it would have been better at 9 or 10% because the alcohol seems to conflict with the sweet dessert characteristics that it started with. This seems to be a beer that needed to be refined. Could have been much better if a few minor adjustments had been made before going into mass production.
