3 notes
Cherry Coloured Funk
10.2% Sour / Wild Ale
[CHERRY-COLOURED FUNK BY COCTEAU TWINS PLAYS IN THE BACKGROUND] IN THE CELLAR OF THE SONIC CATHEDRAL OCCUPIED BY SCOTLAND’S FINEST PURVEYORS OF GRACEFUL, ETHEREAL DREAM POP LIES OLD SPEYSIDE WHISKY BARRELS. EACH CASK HAS A STORY, EACH ONE FILLED WITH 90/- ALE AGED ON A MIXED CULTURE. WE ALL GO CHERRY PICKING FROM THE TREES BEHIND THE CATHEDRAL; BLOOD RED JUICE DRIPPING FROM OUR HANDS. WE’LL USE THIS JUICE TO ADD A SWEET/SOUR INTENSITY TO THE WEE HEAVY. THIS MIGHT ALL SOUND LIKE A DREAM AND AN OAKY, SWEET, TART, FUNKY, MIXED FERMENTATION CHERRY ALE MIGHT SOUND LIKE A DREAM BEER. BUT IF THIS IS A DREAM, THEN WOULDN’T YOU HAVE WOKEN UP WHEN THE CORK POPPED?

4.0
Tart cherry with a slight undertone of sugared almonds and a hint of Smokey oak. Quite drinkable and quite dangerous at 10.2%
