The progress of spring experienced a major setback last night and it still continues. As if we got back to mid-winter due to rough snowfall. 🌨️❄️⛄😖
The beer displays semihazy, deep tangerine orange. Carbonation is fizzy and dies fast. Just when I realize that there's a bubbly head on the top, it melts wholly away and leaves a calm surface in the glass.
I'm picking at least raspberry and wheat malt in the scent. Additionally I'm imagining a drop of blood orange juice among the olfactory supply but the confusion may very well be also a product of the mesmerizing color.
Raspberry dances on the tastebuds, not bloatingly but noticeably anyway. I can't help it but I can find orange zest and even tangerine. Perhaps also a suggestion of apple behind the main cocktail. Well whatever, I can surely identify wheat malt in the basement supporting the fruity provision as well as some lactic acid in-built in the package.
The body is light. Raspberry is still number one component. Now I'm getting also something more sour berry like rowanberry. Wheat's intensity diminishes and lactic acid gets really shy at this stage. The aftertaste fills the tank and gets rocketed to the space for a few seconds.
The mouthfeel is zesty, light, moderately tart and slightly astringent. It's balanced, quite easy and gulpable. Still, my challenge is that this beer doesn't step out of the crowd in any respect. My rating reflects that.
