This can states to be 'Winterland 2023' though there doesn't seem to be anything to indicate it's any different from previous years. Pour was nice with a decent balance of bubbly foam and the smooth liquid. Body is expectant black, quite deep as there's not much hue against the light and carried two fingers of off white foam that didn't last. Scent is a little lackluster, lots of ashen coffee grounds with only the tiniest hint of vanilla carried through on the milky lactose. Mouthfeel is quite plain, basic carbonation with mild foaminess and only a slight lining in the mouth after. Taste starts with the ashen coffee grounds, sweet lactose comes in after and only the faintests vanilla is present. Dissapointing, could easily be another all year round stout, nothing special to warrant it being seasonal.

This poured lusciously for a normal stout, and left a body of black with a huge head of chocolate brown foam. Scent is almost entirely coffee with a finish of chocolate malt, no real vanilla presence at all. Mouthfeel is very nice, it's slick with a little carbonation and goes down very well. Taste is a good balance of sweet lactose and bitter coffee, and a slightly ashen after taste. Didn't find any of the vanilla but still a very nice stout an would buy it again.
