Triple share with son and son-in-law. Another Texas beer from Martin House. Their beers are usually hit and miss, playing Russian roulette with them.
It started with a very light yellow pour and then once you swirl the can, a muddy brown mixed with it. With three glasses we had to exchange contents to get a balance of color. Ends up being a very muddy yellow brown. Strong aroma of amaretto. Texture is light and medium soft. No bitterness at all. This combination of flavors is very reminiscent reminiscent of a Dr pepper. Flavors of vanilla, amaretto, creamy almond, all balanced perfectly with a finished that actually adds some doughy cake notes. I did not detect the 10% alcohol at all.
This is an extremely unattractive beer in the glass. To look at it you're not sure if you want to drink it. But it's actually very flavorful and it accomplishes the flavors they were trying to achieve.
