Stopped by a local watering hole that often surprises me with new brews. Another unique one. Surprised that this is a hefeweizen. Small white head that dissipates quickly. Medium yellow color with just a little haze. Seems to have an unusual tiny effervescent head that keeps replenishing itself. Definite banana aroma. Texture starts soft and then turns crisp. First taste brings forth a tart banana, nutmeg, a pinch of cinnamon and notes of cloves. Flavor intensity is on the mild side. Reminds me of a Belgian ale with the bananas cloves. When the finish arrives all I get is a hint of disappearing banana and citrus type bitterness. As hard as I tried, I could not find the pudding. Banana bread pudding is one of my favorites but this isn't it. Brave of them to try this mixture in a hefeweizen but it doesn't really work for me.
