Dual deer with my son-in-law in Houston. Good beer I brought back from Texas, he hates that it was made in Oklahoma.
Seems really thick coming out of the bottle, little head and what is there is deep brown. Strong bourbon alcohol aroma with chocolate notes in the background. Heavy, almost syrupy in texture. The aged bourbon alcohol is the first thing I get quickly followed by a very rich and sweet chocolate fudge. As the flavor coats the inside of my mouth, other flavors appear. Peanuts, traces of vanilla, and especially maraschino cherries. All this slides into the finish which again is dominated by the bourbon alcohol and chocolate fudge.
This is the very definition of a dessert stout which I love so much. Definitely to be enjoyed sip by small sip because it is 14.9%. Powerful, delicious, and deserves to be savored. Prairie Artisan Ales succeeds again.
