Located in the town of Bodegraven in The Netherlands, about a 30-minute drive south of Amsterdam is Brouwerij De Molen. In Dutch, de molen means 'The Mill' and it is in this, a picturesque 17th-Century gristmill, on the banks of the Oude Rijn, that the brewery began back in 2006
Just over 15 years on and De Molen continue to set the standard when it comes to brewing in the Netherlands. Rated No.01 'Top Brewery" in The Netherlands for 10 years by RateBeer.com users as well as placing in the top 100 rated breweries worldwide.
For tonight’s beer we have Gras and Graan, De molen’s take on a New England IPA. They have categorized the beer as a crystal NEIPA, due to it possessing all the tropical notes you’d expect from the east coast style, but with little to no haze. The juicy aromas and flavours are balanced against a distinct spiciness and warmth that lingers on the palate. This is a NEIPA re-imagined and we love it!
