One for the road sounds like a good idea... Delirium Village is the location. I remember this environment as a hell of a noisy place last time. Now it's even worse. This is like a f****ng nightclub. A nightclub with a good beer selection. Can't hear my own thoughts. 🎧 The music is from the 80s. I know the beat. 👍🏻
The beer wears a basically, deep ruby gown but looks like dark mahogany. Carbonation is reasonable. A latte-hued bubbleless head reaches two fingers. Retention is substantially long. A neat lace ring kisses the rim of the glass passionately, and a beautiful haze adorns the surface attractively.
The scent offers hefty sweet plum, powerful date, toffee, caramel and oversweet bun. I wonder if I get a pinch of cinnamon in the air, as well. Maybe, maybe not. Can't say.
The tongue receives sweet bun, lofty date, sugary prune, a bit of fig and some toffee. Dark malt is absolutely oversweet, maybe even moderately chocolatey. Interesting for sure.
The body is relatively robust. The finish is sweet datey, figgy and modestly chocolatey. Yeah, the same road takes me forward. The finish doesn't step outside of the beaten track. And the sensation is sustained in the mouth for a good while.
The mouthfeel is full, sappy, a tad sticky, overripe, relatively soft and smooth. It's mature, round and savory. Tasty, not sure if this is a dancefloor beer though. Ok, over and out from my side now.
