Crazy Lines #10 Cold Double IPA
8.0% Imperial IPA / Double IPA
CRAZY LINES #10 – 18,0°Blg, 8,0% alk. 100 IBU – COLD IPA HOPS: Nelson Sauvin, Lotus, Centennial, TRI2304CR Blend Cryo Hops To brew a crisper version of IPA, brewers create Cold IPA using pilsner malt and lager yeast. Sounds a bit like an India Pale Lager, right? Because it’s an IPA its ABV is higher than an IPL. Adjuncts (rice and/or corn, for example) are used to lighten the body. Since it’s an IPA, expect gobs of hop character. Not old world hop varieties like you might find in a pilsner, but new world hop varieties like you might find in the latest and greatest IPAs. As explained below, it’s a sort of crossover style. An IPA brewed like a lager, kind of.

Kylmää dipaa, ja siksi onkin melko kevyenlaista tyylissään. Tuoksu on mieto, makeahko ja hieman alkoholinen. Maku jatkaa samalla linjalla ja muistuttaa jopa vahvaa lageria. Jälkimaku on lähinnä katkera ja kestää melko pitkään.

My first "cold" IPA, which is an IPA brewed using light malts and lager yeast but fermented in ale temperature. So is this an IPA or an IPL? I'm confused. 0,5l can from Spiegelau IPA-glass. Canned more than 2,5 months ago. Slightly hazy and very pale orange beer. White foam. Juicy lemon and dry grass & hay scent. High carbonation. Mouthfeel is oily and lip glueing. Lots of citrus and dry hay at first. Dry and bitter lemon, grapefruit and zesty orange peels. Floral notes with wood and raw pineapple. Grapes and white wine. Some hay and straw with a touch of caramel. Mostly fresh and juicy taste but just slightly stuffy and heavy at times. Ends with dry grass and pine with a touch of lemon. Ale or Lager? I would probably say ale in a blind test. West coasty IPA/L with lovely fruity notes. Nothing special though.

Raikas hedelmällinen ja jo alkuun hieman greippinen puraisu, tumma hedelmä maistuu, prossat juuri sopivasti esissä, kiva tykitys tupla ipaa, maistuu ja tuntuu tupla ipa, hyvää puolasta...
