Aniseed

I got given a bottle of this for my birthday a few weeks ago. This reminds me of Christmas in a beer. It has a strong alcohol kick from the Whistlepig rye barrels and lovely chocolate, citrus and spicy flavours. Very nice.

The colour is a mixture of bronze and amber. A strong aroma of cinnamon and some caramel. The mouthfeel is very soft and smooth, creamy. The taste is also very smooth, bringing up a real strong flavour of cinnamon and some rosemary. Reminds me very much of a traditional Finnish winter drink called Glögi! Which is weird but nice. Some brown sugar. The rye whiskey barrel is also present giving this one a strong alcohol flavour. Some oak and orange peel also. A bit thin body and watered up which is weird for this being 12,8% abv. But tastes like a proper old fashioned (as beer)! 3.75/5 for me being a bit watery expected it to have a little more kick.
