The third beer in the miniseries of beers celebrating Mark Rothko. If you don't know who Mark Rothko is, go check my review on the Mark #1.
First beer was vanilla, chocolate and banana Imperial Pastry Stout and second one had peanut butter instead of vanilla. This is Maple syrup, chocolate and coconut Imperial Pastry Stout.
0,5l can from Rastal Craft Master One. BB 11.02.23.
Black and oily looking beer with generous brown foam. (I had to pour really aggressively to get the foam.)
Delicious sweet maple syrup and chocolate sauce scent.
Low carbonation. Mouthfeel is creamy and full. Slightly oily and cocoa powderish. But, I still feel that this should be thicker.
Very sweet and syrupy first bite. Chocolate sauce, milky caramel latte, very sweet maple syrup and tasty vanilla. Coconut is disappointingly subtle. Peculiar roasted and somehow smoky campfire like flavor on the background. Maple syrup is very intense and deliciously sweet. Oh, did I already mention that this is a very sweet beer? ๐
๐ So sweet that the slightly thin body is struggling to carry it. Some subtle drier notes can be found in the form of burnt caramel, dark bread and roasted barley. Darker chocolate powder rises as the beer closes room temperature. Coconut is still almost non-existent, shame.
Ends with dry dark chocolate bitterness with a touch of maple syrup.
Good Pastry IS, but also the weakest of the three Mark-beers. Overly sweet, even for me, slightly too thin and not enough coconut. Goes down effortlessly and is enjoyable. Doesn't blow the roof off though.
