GREYโS VIEW
Blend of Imperial Stouts aged in Bourbon & Rye Whiskey Barrels w/ Cacao Nibs & Ugandan Vanilla Beans.
First wave is strong. I find lots of quick bourbon and a bit slower and throat warming rye whiskey. Rye is up there in the front as vanilla softens the edges just a bit. Clearly a barrel forwarded unit. Chocolate ganache and oily feel with sauna woods rises at the next wave, yammy stuff. Molasses, brown sugars and sugarcanes are just a tip on the tongue, but theyโre there too. Really nice palate.
Mouthfeel is quick, semi sticky, medium~ish-light maybe. Enjoyable, but fast paced.
As the taste evolves towards the end, liqorice and oak are there taking care of the rest.
OTHER NOTES:
Meditatio = Latin for Meditation = Practice where individuals focus is on a particular object, thought or activity.
Lovely work. Looks like these dark ones from Monkish really needs some time to age before they work to me.
Nice and clean, complex enough palate with pretty damn solid presence from the barrels. Rye, vanilla, oak woody and delightfully oily.
Slow sipper for sure.
