Watching the Astros Rangers baseball game on my son's big screen. Just watched Altuve hit a three-run homer. Ryan is a huge Astros fan and turned me into one by taking me to a ball game this year. Found this fantastic Texas beer in the back of his fridge. A barrel aged bock. Awesome. Extremely dark color but not opaque. Ruby red and gorgeous. Strong sweet malt aroma. Delicious soft flavor with sweet notes of raisins. Very smooth and well balanced. Adds a little alcohol kick in the finish. May be the best beer to come from the Spotsel brewery.

Having with my son-in-law in Houston Texas. A limited release Shiner beer with a Texas bourbon barrel. Bourbon aroma. Light and hints of oak. Small head, beautiful clear deep red color. Texture is smooth and soft, medium weight. Flavor of roasted malt, sweet bourbon. Leaves the mouth a little dry. I'm not often a big fan of bourbon barrel beers, but this is good.
