I struggle with these pastry stouts and even more so when chilli is involved. However, Boundary are now on my list of breweries to trust with this style. Vanilla and warming chilli is the overall flavours I get from this. Caramel and coffee are secondary. All flavours can be had in the aroma though. Really nice balanced big stout 👍

A big pour with a huge, chocolate coloured foamy head that eventually settled to a measly half finger. The remaining body is black with lots of remaining carbonation, fizzing like a can of coke.
The scent is like a battlefield of all the advertised flavours of coconut, coffee, vanilla and Chipotle, all present but none rising above the others. Mouthfeel is very imposing, the crackling carbonation gives way to a heavy, almost oily feel of the imperial body.
Taste losses out to the scent, the coffee and coconut are lost, but the vanilla and Chipotle are present and correct. The heat is very timid but the sweetness plays very well off of it.
Maybe too wild an idea for a beer but a very good attempt.
