Bière couleur brune orange, petite mousse et houblons présents. Au nez, on sent des notes caramélisées et d’orange. Sous le palais, la bière est liquoreuse et haute carbonisation. L’amertume est moyenne à forte, l’acidité légère et l’alcool très fort. Les notes de caramélisées apportent le côté sucré et l’orange un côté fruité et de l’amertume. Au final, une excellente bière.

Homebrewing a Barleywine tomorrow myself. So, enjoying some Barleywine right now feels the right thing to do. Canned on 24.9.2020 Temperature: +11 C Not particularly pretty, murky orange color. Small head and a majority of it leaves quickly: 3,25/5 Notes of orange marmalade, fresh citrus, dried fruits, alcohol some caramel. Fruit heavy. I was expecting a lot more malty aromas, as this should be an English Barleywine. Doesn't go deep enough but the overall strength of the scent is a proper one for the beer style: 3,5/5 Mouthfeel is medium with a tad too sharp carbonation for my liking...the overall picture of the mouthfeel is quite harsh and very, very far from the best Barleywines I've had. There's also strong bitterness alongside that "high" carbonation and then some alcohol warmth: 2,75/5 Taste has some sweet maltiness but not enough complexity from the malts. Then some sweet fruits, alcohol, slightly earthy flavors, even mild watery peppery hues: 8,5/15 This is now my 4th or 5th Adroit Theory beer, and I'm having a really hard time to figure out the UTs brewery average of 4.04😶not bad beers but soulless and boring. These taste like every other beer but with a few euros higher price... Maybe they've just sent their not-so-good beers in Europe and of course, 4 beers is perhaps not enough to get the full picture of a brewery🤷‍♂️ But back to this beer. The beer doesn't feel like a Barleywine. Much less an English style one. But the beer is not bad per se, it's just more like some kind of Strong Ale and everything in this beer feels like American: 12/20 =30/50

Grapefruity, bit sweet, caramel, moderately bitter and dry. Good flavours, but not too much for my liking.

Pitkästä aikaa ohraviiniä, samalla itselle uutta panimoa, Adroit theory. Myös uusi olut pintissä. Tölkitetty syyskuussa, tölkissä mainitaan että juo tuoreena, tiedä sitten olisiko kypsyneenä parempaa. Melkoisen samea, kuparinruskea olut. Ohut vaahto, mutta tarttuu ihan hyvin reunoihin. Ihan kiva barley wine. Karamellisuutta ja siirappia, vaaleaa leipäisyyttä, appelsiimarmeladia sekä kepeää sitrusta ja greippiä. Tuoksu aika vahva ja hedelmäinen, maku on aika kuivahko, välillä sokerista makeutta ja kevyttä katkeruutta. Alkoholi ei jää ainakaan huomaamatta. Suussa muuten aika täyteläinen, pehmeä ja lämmin. Ehkä kaipaisi vähän syvyyttä ja runsautta, mutta kelpo barley wine, mukavan katkera sellainen. Ehkä vähän turhan liian iso tölkki tälle oluelle.
