New beer in Pint Please.
Canned on 24.9.2020
Temperature: +15 C
Light red-brown coloured beer with an off-white head. The foam lasts long at the edges, but in the centre of the glass, it reveals the surface quite fast. Viscosity looks thick. Decent looking English Barleywine: 4,5/5
The aroma is malty, caramelly, and fruity with almost boozy like alcohol, nevertheless, it seems to fit well in the beer. There's also an intriguing aroma of liqueur candy. In some perverted way, I like it. Not the most complex Barleywine aroma but feels big and bold: 4/5
Mouthfeel is full and soft. Fascinating that the mouthfeel isn't that boozy considering how strong the scent was. Bitterness is kept low, and the carbonation reaches medium-low levels. The mouthfeel is powerful like it should be: 4,25/5
Taste shows many similarities with the aroma, although the alcohol only strikes at the very end and doesn't hang around everywhere like it did in the scent. The overall picture for the flavour is malt dominated with fruity sweetness and some light citrus notes. A slight herbal flavour also pops out when the beer gets warmer: 12/15
Good English Barleywine. Not the most complex but at the start till the end, sturdy and robust. A good showcase of how these malty stronger beers should be like. Should probably buy more of these and age them to see how'll they develop: 16/20
