In colour, it's somewhere between a ruby ale and a porter. In flavour, weirdly, it's about the same. Sharp Italy, with a lovely, smooth texture which melts into coffee and malts. It doesn't score highly as a porter because it doesn't behave like one. Maybe it's these balmy summer conditions, but it deserves to be enjoyed next to a fire.
