Medium-bodied marzen style beer brewed with cranberry puree. Lovely beer for the colder weather.

My new job is only two blocks from Back Forty. Most days to tired to take advantage of it. Not today, it's Friday and I'm looking forward to a fabulous weekend. They have again brewed one of my favorites, a limited edition. Cranberry Marzen.
On tap with only a small head. Beautiful reddish orange color. Aroma is faint but I can detect both the Marzen and the cranberry. Smooth, soft, medium body, very drinkable. Marzen flavor, some caramel sweetness, cranberry gets stronger as it goes. Finish brings a little more cranberry, a hint of sourness, and a little salt.
They really do brew some good beers here but they don't brew this one often enough for me. Very unique flavor which is something to the said. Love it.

On tap at my local brewery, Back Forty Brewery. Unusual recipe marzen with cranberry. Pairing this with a Freckle Belly burger made with pepper jelly and cream cheese. You have to try this if you ever get a chance.
Poured with a small amount of head, didn't last. Color is beautiful, deep red amber and moderately hazy. No particulates visible. Not much carbonation present. Texture is light and crisp. Flavor is balanced between the cranberry and the marzen hops. Flavor is not as strong as I would have liked. Cranberry is more predominant in the finish which is a little on the sour side.
Very much enjoyed having a beer that is unique and was able to accomplish what they were trying, a balance between marzen and cranberry. Points for being different.
