This is why I have to rerate beers from 4 years ago. This dark Swartzbier is much different than I remember it. Last time I said it did not have much flavor. So wrong. Now it seems to have plenty of dark roasted malt that is soft and creamy and brings out a touch of chocolate. I said no bitterness, wrong. The finish has a distinct bitterness that is quite lasting. Not overwhelming thankfully. The characteristics I see in this beer now make me actually like the beer more hence a higher rating.

Pours with little head. Color is opaque brown. Flavor is of dark roasted malts. Not as powerful as it's dark color suggests. No bitterness. Light roasted finish that is both smooth and gentle. Very similar to a brown ale. I like this one very much.
