Mettle was originally brewed to celebrate the spirit of tenacity and camaraderie that our team displayed throughout our first year in business. Six years later, as we stand eye-to-eye with our toughest challenge yet, our resolve is tested yet again. After pausing draft service at all of our locations, we decided to get creative and resourceful with the variety of fresh, hoppy draft beer in our cold rooms.
Mettle Alloy is a meticulously-blended IPA consisting of a large portion of Mettle and a variety of Trillium hoppy beers that complement our beloved Double IPA. The result is a hop-saturated offering that displays complexity and nuance as it washes across the palate. A huge fresh grapefruit character greets the palate upfront, with layers of pithy lemon, orange peel, and juicy watermelon following closely behind. Balanced, medium-bodied, and highly drinkable, Mettle Alloy is a beer built to make the tough times a little better.

Mettle Alloy. Tosiaan. Mukavan pehmeästi alkaa ananaksen ja greipin kuljettaessa. Kiiwiä, appelsiinia, mandariinia, papaijaa; kypsää hedelmäisyyttä. Humalointi ottaa roolia oluen edetessä. Suutuntu on kuohkean rakean tukeva ja suurieleinen. Hieman aktivoituessaan laajenee ja luo omaa ulottuvuuttaan tähän. Nopea ja kepeä se on kaikkinensa. Jälkitunnussa sitruunamehua, limeä ja greippiä hyvällä viljaisuudella sekä aavistuksen kuivattaen.
MUUTA MAINITTAVAA:
Trilliumin Mettle DIPA sekoitettuna useisiin Trilliumin oluisiin = Mettle Alloy.
Tosiaan NEIPA se oli. DIPAksi muistin. Oivallinen blendi se on. Itse poimin Galaxyn ja Citran tuosta ainakin, mutta mitäpä niitä arvuuttelemaan. Melko perinteinen kuitenkin.

Massively foggy, deep apricot-tinted beer with average carbonation builds a fluffy velvety, off-white head that grows two fingers tall. The foamy pillow loses sluggishly air and adorns the top as a beautiful airy lacing for considerably long, as a matter of fact, until the end of the drink. The contracting froth messes the glass with thick wrapping.
The first sniff captures rather subdued nuances of mango, cantaloupe and apricot. The second sniff brings in a pinch of dry hops. The fragrance is weaker than those of Trilliums normally.
The taste portrays raw mango, orange juice, lemon zest, a tad pineapple and a drop of squeezed mandarin. I can also detect a decent injection of dry hops and softening oatmeal in the background.
The body is light-medium, which lies on a somewhat thin side provided the ABV is 7.3 %. The beer finishes with dry hops, raw mango, bitter orange peel and grapefruit pith. The aftertaste leaves a short-lived lukewarm feeling for the tastebuds.
The mouthfeel is relatively tropical, medium-crisp, a bit dry and zesty. It's also attractively soft and smooth. Easy as hell.
