Another impulse purchase at a local shop: the name of the beer is so tacky and the price around 50 cents that I can't disappoint me much.
Transparent, deep gold beer with sparkling, good-duration carbonation lets out a white, soapy head that wants to overpour to the table if you aren't vigilant. The foamy tower melts soon down to a frazil-icy lacing wafting on the surface. Solely a couple of minuscule spots are left behind on the wall of the glass.
The scent offers medium-sweet pale malt, a bit of Digestives and a distinct note of starch. Uninviting!
The taste is watery, I can even feel it in my mouth that this beer has saved ingredients. Standard pale malt, fortunately not as sweet as the fragrance would have suggested. Quite watery though. The hops are weak but they are there. It's a positive sign. A distant idea of starch lingers somewhere in the shadows but it stays in control.
The body is scanty. The beer finishes with slightly bitter pale malt and a pinch of hops. The duration of the aftertaste is medium.
The mouthfeel is watery, extraordinarily bulky, very industrial but fortunately not adjuncted. It's actually slightly crisp and relatively clean.
It's the same quality as Lapin Kulta in Finland but this deserves 0.2 stars more because of the very cheap price.
