! LIMIT 1 PP ! From the beer geek breakfast series – the beer that really put Mikkeller on the map - we decided to shake things up with this one by adding a truck load of vanilla to the french press coffee trick, creating a whole new dimension to the beer that are loved by freaks and geeks worldwide. Not only that, we then placed it in whiskey barrels for a truly unique beer experience. It’s dark, dangerous, sweet and incredibly tasty as you would expect.- Imperial Oatmeal Stout brewed with Coffee and Vanilla and aged in Whiskey Barrels- Brewed at Lervig in Norway

Old bottle.
It's been in my cellar for four years. Maybe bottled in 2019. Mikkeller beer, brewed in Norway by Lervig.
Vanilla, coffee, alcohol, some off-flavours and bourbon.
It is by no means in the best shape anymore. Comes with a bad taste that is clearly brought on by age.

Odotin enemmän tältä. Alkoholi maistuu liikaa läpi.

Tätä on odotettu. On säilötty hyllyssä kun hieman lämmin ollu ettei oo jaksanu tällaisia juoda. Enää en malttanu :)
Väri on tumma ku yö.
Aromista löytyy vahvaa kahvia, viskiä, kaakaota ja vaniljaa. Aromi lämmittää mukavasti sieraimia.
Mausta löytyy vaniljaa, salmiakkia, kahvia, yskänlääke tulee hieman esille.
Suutuntuma samettisen pehmeä ja öljyinen.
Ihan mahtava imperial stout! Herkkua Mikkeller herkkua!

Almost two years old a bottle. Lot of vanilla, dark chocolate, but also very dry, not too sweet and bit too alcoholic. Kinda disappointed.

Late night coffee from Mikkeller. This was an extra in the box. Stouts are always a nice welcome so here we go. Best before in January 2029.
Pours opaque and deep dark brown in color, rather thick also. Rising head is dark brown and dissipates in few minutes leaving a ring on the edges.
Vanilla is the first on the nose, then whiskey barrel and coffee. Dark chocolate and roasted malts. Quite straight forward.
Flavour follows nicely all of those above mentioned. Has that vanilla but not too much, good sweetness going on here. Whiskey warms up throat and stomach, roastiness, darker chocolate and bitter coffee in the back end. Easy drinkable. Syryp and sugar gave a solid lip-glueing feeling. Mouthfeel was also quite thick here which is always much needed character when it comes to an enjoyable stout.
