First beer from this months Beerdome order. Bottle. Best before: 1/2023 Temperature: +15,5 degrees Almost black in color. Mocha color head is even, smooth looking with poor retention but small amount of the foam forms a circle that lasts forever. Beautiful texture as well: 4,25/5 Nose has a strong dessert like aroma with molasses, mudcacke, coconut, licorise and coffee. Nice balance, strong aromas: 4,25/5 Mouthfeel is full, warming (both the alcohol and the lovely chili touch), bitterness can be felt. Unfortunately the body doesn't cary till the end but turns a bit watery. Shame, otherwise this seems so good: 3,75/5 Taste: chili, coconut, chocolate, mudcacke, tiny amount of licorise/molasses. I think the chili somehow covers it... Some coffee there also. Hmm, nice but the watery feel at the end of the mouthfeel also affects the flavour profile. Seems somewhat dilluted...aftertaste is all about chili with minor sweetness coming through: 10,75/15 Good beer. Such a shame the malt backbone isn't strong enough, that really is the only drawback! Overall nice beer with full of multilayered flavours and just a right amount of chili spiciness. Also I love the coconut flavour this has. De moersleutel have become one of my favorite breweries with their awesome and tastefull Imperial stouts! 15,25/20 =38,25/50
