Barrel Aged Advent Calendar Day #21 Nice whiskey aroma along with caramel notes. Taste has whiskey, slight caramel notes and oak. The body is between medium and medium-full with an appropriately low amount of carbonation. I think I enjoyed this more fresh, but that's the fun part of aging beer...you never know what will happen to it. 4/5

Imperial Brown Ale aged in oak whiskey barrels. Whiskey, vanilla, oak, caramel and brown sugar in the aroma. Taste has...wow. A lot going on here. I'm getting brown sugar, whiskey, huge oak, vanilla and caramel. Flavor explosion. This is pretty sweet without being overly sweet. Brown sugar and whiskey linger in the aftertaste. Body is medium-ish to medium and the carbonation is medium-low. Warms the throat on the way down. A great beer fresh and I can't wait to try this with some age on it. Body could be more full, but that's really my only complaint. The huge, well balanced, flavors in this one help to make up for the body. Absolutely delicious and definitely worth a try. I may grab one yearly, as the price point is a bit too high for more than that (11.99). Definitely a well made beer. It's a bit boozy, but you have to expect that at 12% abv. A more full body would definitely earn this an extra half star. High 4.25/5
