Cuvée Clarisse Wild Weasel Whiskey Infused
10.2% Belgian Strong Ale
Cuvée Clarisse Whisky Infused is a unique symbiosis between our Cuvée Clarisse 9.2% Vol. Alc., voted the world's best heavy dark beer at the prestigious World Beer Awards 2018, and our Wild Weasel Whisky, which also won awards at the San Francisco World Spirit Awards 2 years in a row. This combination results in a ruby red beer of 10.2% Vol. Alc. with subtle aromas of bourbon, fruity notes of vanilla and licorice. The distinctive malty and full-bodied aftertaste ensures a blessed pleasure!

Putain c'est du costaud. Une bonne bière au whisky bien corsée.

A lucid beer with a dark chestnut brown, even somewhat ruby hue and posh carbonation. A yellowish creamy head swells three fingers thick. The foamy crown descends gradually to a still impressive lacing on the top and leaves downpouring traces on the rim.
A somewhat sweet-leaning scent: red malt, brown sugar, faint cookie and an alcoholic touch. Interestingly, I can spot oak notes more easily than whisky itself but even the whisky can surely be identified in the air.
The tongue enjoys syrup, brown sugar, brown and red malts, caramel, purple plum peel and raisin. The alcoholic sector grows from the fragrance. Now whisky is more pronounced than the oak barrel nuances. Perhaps there's something distantly nutty, as well, but I can't say anything more detailed about it.
The body is medium to medium-full. Ends with drier notes, especially the whisky behaves more boldly here. The whisky is distinctly malty, dry fruity and alcoholic, but not smoky. A nice medium-lasting finish.
The mouthfeel is medium-full, moderately alcoholic, barrel aged, balanced and reasonably round. Lip-glueing, for sure. It has character but is by no means challenging. A solid sipper although a cold winter evening would probably be a better time to enjoy this.
