Trying this almost a year after it was bottled to see if it improved any. I remember the orange being a bit medicinal early on.
I'm getting oranges, chocolate and some bourbon in the aroma. Taste has medicinal orange, bourbon and chocolate. I think it's gotten a little bit better, but hopefully another year in the cellar will get this beer where I feel it can be. 4/5

Time has served this one well. The orange is much more tolerable and actually compliments the beer now. This one is from my pantry...I can't wait to see how this one ages in the cellar. 4.25/5

Decided to give this one another try, since I recently had it on tap and it was better than my first bottle. Oranges still dominate the aroma. Taste has zesty, ripe oranges first, followed by chocolate and light bourbon. I have a feeling this is going to age beautifully, but right now it's just not really my favorite reserve from Dragon's Milk. 4/5

Lots of orange in the aroma. Chocolate is beyond that. Taste has orange front and center. Following this, I'm getting some chocolate, bourbon and a touch of the oak from the barrel aging. Orange is definitely dominant. This is one that I'd like to age in hopes that the orange will fade over time and allow for a better balance. This is probably my least favorite Dragon's Milk Reserve variant, but it's not a bad beer. Just off balance. I usually grab 2 4-packs to drink and 1 to age, but I might do the opposite this time. I hate to do it, but 3.75/5
As this approaches room temperature, the orange is subsidizing some, allowing the chocolate to be more noticeable. Still a 3.75/5
