Barrel Aged Advent Calendar Day #10 2019 vintage Coffee galore in the aroma along with evidence of the bourbon barrel aging. Taste has huge coffee, followed by a nice noticeable and flavorful bourbon and finishing with oak. The body is full with lower carbonation. This is my absolute favorite coffee stout. 2019 was by far the best of the 3 years they made it. It was so coffee forward that you couldn't tell at all that it was almost 15% abv. The coffee has faded some and more of the bourbon is coming through. I only have a few left total among the years they made them. I really hope they brew this again in the future. 5/5

Barrel Aged Advent Calendar Day #16 2018 vintage Bourbon and coffee in the aroma. Taste has a perfect blend of coffee and bourbon. Some oak comes through in the late mid-palate and lingers into the finish. The aftertaste is bourbon and coffee. The body is full with an appropriately lower amount of carbonation. The booze is incredibly well hidden. Simply an amazing stout. It was love at first sip the first time I had it, and I still feel the same way about it 2+ years later. World class. 5/5

2019 vintage Smells like coffee. Taste has coffee. There's some bourbon as well, but you'd never guess this is a 14.5% beer. If I had to guess, based on taste alone, I'd say maybe 10-12%. Ellison is making some of the best stouts in Michigan. This one is perfect in my opinion, as far as bourbon barrel aged coffee stouts are concerned. 5/5

This is last year's version. The coffee in here is still strong and tasty. The bourbon is strong and flavorful. Everything I expect from a bourbon barrel aged coffee stout. World class beer in my opinion. 5/5

Best coffee beer I've ever had the pleasure of drinking. Great bourbon qualities from the barrel aging. Brewery only beer. I can't wait for the next release! 5/5

Coffee, coffee and more coffee in the aroma. I'm not exaggerating at all. Huge coffee. Maybe a little bit of chocolate as well. Taste has both chocolate and coffee. Bourbon follows as does the oak, both from the barrel aging. Drinks very smooth, and while there is some booziness, it doesn't drink anything like you'd expect a 14.5% abv beer to drink. Maybe 11 or 12%. Full bodied with a thick, syrupy mouthfeel and an appropriately lower carbonation. This isn't just a home run, it's a grand slam. Best coffee beer I've ever had the pleasure of trying, by far. I can't say enough good things about this one. As I continue to sip, I can't think of anything that could change to make this beer better. I wish this was readily available, but I'll just have to keep an eye on the brewery (which is right in town). World class beer. 5/5

This smells like a black cup of coffee. Taste is like a black cup of coffee. Decent booziness at 14.5% abv. Great stout. 4.5/5
