This place might just be the apotheosis of modern East London. Once you’ve found Crate (and doing so will challenge those who struggle with geography and/or navigating industrial estates) there’s a canal, lots of graffiti, a view of the Olympic Stadium and some really very good beer. Inside the chairs and tables are made out of old pallets and there are casks here and there: few places are this elegantly untidy. The beer is decent and the pizza comes highly recommended, too.
