At my son's house for a 4th of July cookout. Having an interesting Birmingham beer that should be light on a 95° day.
Pale yellow, has plenty of effervescence. Smooth but weak corn malt. The flavor has a bit of a dirty salt that is not appealing. Turns a little dry in the finish. Drinkable but I would never reach for a six pack of this.

This Birmingham Brewery, Avondale, produces some good beer and this is their flagship, a farmhouse ale.
Nice totally white head, died down by half quickly but is now sustaining. Almost clear primary yellow. There's not a lot of aroma, has a melon characteristic with traces of lemon. Texture is very gentle, clean leaving no residue in the mouth. That first sip brings the Belgian characteristic up front. Cloves in a fruity way. I normally don't care for cloves because they're usually presented in a much more powerful manner. But here it's combining effortlessly with somewhat tropical hops and during the finish it adds a mild peppery sensation to the tongue. This is very drinkable and none of the 7.2% alcohol is revealed. I both advise you to try it and be careful of that sneaky alcohol.

Enjoying a football afternoon with the Eagles taking care of business. Damn TV cut the game short. Go Jalen Hurts. 🦅
Medium white head that is dissipating. Deep amber yellow and clear. Citrus aroma showing tangerine and pine resin. Flavors much more pineapple with distinct notes of orange peel. Nice level of flavor and no bitterness on the front end. Finish does add hop bitterness and that's where the pine resin appears. Very mild on the front and turns very sour and tart on the finish.
Very much enjoyed the start but the finish brought too much pine.

Enjoying another duo beer with my son-in-law in Galveston Texas. Halftime of the Buccaneers vs Packers ballgame.
Strong tangerine aroma. Pour's pale yellow, quickly dissipating head. Very thin texture. Has a very mild tangerine flavor. A little sour on the finish.
It's called Brunch Punch. I get the Brunch but there's no Punch. Flavor is good but not near enough of it. Not much Punch in this rating of 1.6.

Trying this on site at Avondale Brewery in Birmingham Alabama. This brew is not canned, on site on tap only.
Starts with a strong chocolate aroma. Poured with very little head but it was poured down the side of a plastic cup. Dark brown opaque color. Creamy texture. Strong earthy, burnt flavor of deep cocoa. Starts bittersweet but the bitter overwhelms the sweet. Finish is more bitter than expected. Continues with a bitterness and a crisp dryness that is not fading.
This is a very good brew but not what I expected from a chocolate oatmeal stout. Reminds me more of a British Porter with a little chocolate thrown in. Expected more sweetness but overall a good brew if you don't have any preconceived ideas about what you are about to experience.

More quarantine beer, seems like it never ends. Starts with a full head that dissipates quickly down to nothing. Reddish orange color which is moderately hazy. Light and crisp mouthfeel. A little watery, flavor could have been much more pronounced. Even the finish is almost not there. Nothing special about this one.

It's ball game time. Pours an opaque brown color. Medium sized head that is very brown, not very thick. Roasted bitter chocolate flavor, not sweet at all. The finish is dry and bitter chocolate. It's just an okay beer.

Very high head, very thick . Lasts a while. Dark brown opaque color. Faint coffee aroma. Sharp bittersweet coffee flavor, very dry. Sweet finish. Great desert beer.

High thick head. Medium yellow in color and a bit hazy. Definitely a citrus flavor, mostly tastes like grapefruit. Not so bitter for an IPA thankfully. Finish his both bitter and a little sweet. Better than most IPAs.
