Eigenlijk een beetje smakeloos, waterig nietszeggend Blond Bier. Je kunt het drinken... maar....

Dry January is not dry! It's non-alcoholic but not dry. Hopefully my good collection of non-alc beers will take me through January. This NEIPA claims to clock less than 0.4 %. Okay, a reasonable start. The appearance is relatively hazy orange. The introverted carbonation produces a soapy head that reaches two fingers. The froth remains suspiciously thick for a long time and leaves an oddly intransigent ornament on the glass. The scent gives a bitter hint that is so typical at non-alc IPAs. I can spot lemon pith, lemon peel and a bit of raw mango. The taste is not too different: lemon pulp, pith and peel, a generous pinch of grass and a suggestion of raw mango. Maybe also a faint malty sidekick can be registered. The body is light minus. Normally, I wouldn't be excited but 0.4 %, indeed, gives a plausible reason for excitement. The finish dies fast with the familiar citrusy wings. The mouthfeel is light, zesty, pithy rather than pulpy, definitely refreshing, a tad dry and slightly drying. Well, not a masterpiece but a fairly promising start for 2025 anyway. In its own genre, of course.
