Brouwerij Lindemans
Belgium
chevron_leftchevron_right
At Lindemans Brewery, we apply the traditional spontaneous fermentation method to brew our authentic lambic. And this is the lambic we use in our brewery to produce our specialty beers.
A few of these include the authentic Old Gueuze Cuvée René and Old Kriek Cuvée René that have a sparkling and slightly flavour with a dry finish thanks to the bottle fermentation method. or the filtered Gueuze Lindemans with its softer and slightly sweeter flavour. and the Faro of course, a pearly brown beer with a delicious sweet flavour created by the addition of candy Sugar. we also brew fruit beers: Kriek, Framboise, Pecheresse, Cassis and Apple for which we use juices from selected fruits.

Still this I-guess-a-classic untasted. But not for long.
Pours basically transparent dark ruby. The carbonation is restrained. A pinkish–white head exceeds one finger and dissipates rapidly to a neat lace ring. No splatters on the glass.
Generous raspberry mash in the scent. Additionally, I can spot red apple, brut sparkling wine and a dash of wild yeast. Promises a medium-sweet dance for the tastebuds, pretty much like anticipated.
Let's see. Oh yeah. Raspberry is powerful on the tongue. Juicy and freshly mashed. Escorted with fructose. Sweet red apple is still looming next to the raspberry. Sparkling wine shakes hands with somewhat receding wild yeast. Wheat malt is obvious in the foundation, perhaps also a suggestion of biscuit can be found there.
The body is light. That's very welcome since the ABV clocks a mere 2.5 %. The end serves medium-sweet raspberry mash, sweet apple pulp and peel as well as an interesting twist of cranberry jam as a newcomer. Nice.
The beer gives a light, juicy, summery and gardeny impression. It's also lip-glueing, slightly tart, moderately drying and very remotely Belgiany. Funkiness is virtually absent, most likely due to the heavy concentration (= 47 %) of raspberry juice. Maybe a 15–20 % concentration could have saved a lot of the original Lambic disposition.
Anyway, this is a different product, I rate it as it is.
