Southwark Brewing
England

There are some excellent breweries in Bermondsey, but few have as much experience to call on as Southwark. Peter Jackson - the driving force behind the brewery - has spent 30 years in the business, and he's enlisted the help of ex-Roosters man Sean Franklin to design the brew kit; pop in on Saturday to admire his idiosyncratic handiwork. The beers are served on cask and in keg; expect best bitter, golden ale, porter and more besides.

First Gold hops give a reasonable bitterness to this quite refreshing Golden Pale Ale

What can you say. Southwark Brewing Co at its best! Fruity, hoppy, light and refreshing with a subtle dry finish. Cracking!

Hoppy, earthy and biscuity. Strange aftertaste. Not one of my favourites from this particular series.

A very enjoyable Porter. Biscuit, malty flavours. Tasty.

This Porter is unusually oatmeal biscuity with a slight roast coffee flavour & retains some dark chocolate & roasted malt character. Perhaps an Oatmeal Stout/Porter Xover

Golden coloured, malty white hints of fruit in the flavour. Reasonable.

SOOOOAAAMHEEEREEE! Brilliant pint actually, still trying to get over how southerners pour Cask beer. No head, it still tastes good though. Great pint and a great pub!
