We are at Whiskey River Ranch in Texas for our annual SOTS reunion. This is our 36th gathering on the Guadalupe river. This is entry number nine into our best beer contest. This Texas beer is a German Boch. Tough competition from my go-to beer, always gets compared to the best. Deep burnt copper color, still manages to stay clear. Sweet roasted aroma. Mild Amber malt, semi -sweet, middle turns dry roasted. There was only a small touch of sweetness early, that disappears and the dryness dominates. Even adds a bit of pithy bitterness late in the finish. It's a young brewery and I'm sure they'll make the recipes better. It's an average beer with a lot of potential.

Medium dark color, sweet aroma. Begins with a sour-sweet taste, dry grain texture, brings a touch of roast. Turns even more dry in the finish. Finish also has a citus pith bitterness.
