Mead #5. Translucent amber. A visible lace ring even though this has rested untouched longest. Apple mash in the fragrance but relatively obscure anyway. Sweet apple jam on the tongue. The sweetest of the five. No question about it! Sappy! Jam-like. Sticky and lip-glueing. Medium-full to full.
And my 50th Mead in Pint Please. 馃悵馃嵂

Mead #4. Looks different: limpid vermilion. A thin lace ring. Very remote ginger in the scent. But not cherry. Cherry is copious on the tastebuds. Sweet. Ginger diminishes. Maybe also a tad cranberry jam? Interesting! Light-medium, juicy, autumnal, lip-glueing and aromatic.

Mead #3. Clear, deep gold. A very moderate lace ring. Astonishingly impotent apple jam in the air. A pinch of juniper is, in turn, present. The taste deviates from the beaten track: apple is almost absent. Instead, I'm spotting juniper and ginger, followed by distant cinnamon. Interesting. A medium body only. Spiced, zippy, fragrant. Not mainstream.

Mead #2. Transparent copper. A moderate soapy lace ring. Honey and apple but also pear in the scent. The same medley in the palate. Notwithstanding, there shouldn't be pear to my understanding. I don't mind it though. Alcohol is not entirely camouflaged here. Sappy, full, deep, warming, marginally alcoholic, thick and lip-glueing.

A flight of five Meads. Only in 馃嚨馃嚤馃槄馃憤馃徎
Mead #1. Translucent deep amber. No head. Powerful honey in the fragrance. Powerful honey in the taste. No wonder, this is a traditional Mead. Sappy, lip-glueing, full, deep, thick and surprisingly modestly sticky. Simple. Back to basics.
