Advent Calendar #️⃣2️⃣0️⃣ shows an opaque, very dark brown appearance. Shy carbonation as expected. An exceptionally attractive head, fairly small though. The color is copper. The foamy lid becomes a hair-thin ring only. Peanut is amplified in the scent. It should be peanut butter but the fragrance is rather like fresh peanut. Smaller injections of dark chocolate and cookie paint the olfactory picture ready. Peanut is ample also on the tongue but probably less overwhelming by a couple of decimals. Still like fresh peanut but now I'm spotting a wisp of peanut butter, as well. Furthermore, the taste profile portrays cookie, dark chocolate, cacao nibs, graham breadcrumbs and a suggestion of brown sugar. Interestingly, I find no rye whisky in the beer despite the 14 months of barrel aging. Neither can I spot any oaky notes here. On a positive side, alcohol is fully absent although the ABV is fairly high. The body is full. The end serves a bit harsher nuances, such as peanut peel, raw cacao powder and marginal licorice root. The beer leaves a sensation that can be described as full, deep, oily and seriously adjuncted. Lip-glueing. Smooth, balanced and heady.

Opaque black beer. Standard black. Like the name suggests. The carbonation behaves alright, pushes up a tan head that exceeds one finger. The foamy cap melts fast to a neat lace ring while the center of the surface is free of haze. The fragrance offers roasted malt, tobacco, raw cacao powder and faint ash. The gustatory sphere follows suit: cacao nibs, dark chocolate, coffee, cookie and roasted malt. Sweeter than what the nose first imagined. The body is medium to medium-full. Ends with hefty chocolate and bags of cacao nibs. Improves magically towards the finishing line, simultaneously also narrows down a tad. Feels medium-full, velvety, roasty, relatively thick, as if adjuncted. Glues lips tight. Attractive.
