I'm in Chattanooga today visiting some breweries. This is Odd Story Brewing in the Greenhouse Taproom. It's the season for pumpkins so they brewed up a pumpkin ale. Filled the 5-oz glass to the top so no head visible. Clear orange red color leaning more toward the red. Sweet ale aroma, can't smell much pumpkin in this small glass. Really sweet flavor. The toasted pumpkin is up front and clearly dominates the flavor. A little malty and the spices of cinnamon and nutmeg are well balanced in the background. Even has a little alcohol kick for this 7.4% brew. This is a small local Brewery that doesn't can or distribute widely. Can't explain how I'm impressed with the beers that they are Brewing here. They should continue to do well. This place is packed and well it should be.

Traveled to Chattanooga Tennessee today to visit a couple of breweries. This is Odd Story Brewing located in the Greenhouse Taproom. Interesting. Trying their Hot chocolate Stout today. No head in this small sample glass but I saw it poured in a full snifter and had a pretty good head to it. Not completely opaque, a little light shines through the edges and what comes through is totally red. The Mexican chocolate appears quickly along with the spices but then the habanero peppers kick in. Not overbearing but definitely puts a tingle in the back of the throat. All of the flavors that they count on their description are there. The cinnamon, vanilla, nutmeg even a whiff of bourbon along with the chocolate. Each sip brings the habanero peppers more to the forefront and even the mild bourbon is coming forward. For a very small and relatively local Brewery they have done a remarkable job on this beer. Nothing artificial about it. I'm really impressed.
