Pour was easy and smooth but looked a little thin in both body and colour.
Either way, it left a body coloured deep, chocolate brown. The concentration in the core makes it look black but when up against the light it is nicely brown with even a slight ruby red hue.
Unfortunately there was less than trace amounts of head/foam.
First to hit the nose is waves of roasted barley, with some dried currants, riding a backbone of over roasted coffee and black chocolate.
Mouthfeel is nice and complex. It starts mildly thin with a trace foaminess that grows into a creamy, oaty smoothness, that loosely resembles another famous stout.
Taste is only average, the rlasted barely is present with a slight chocolate hint but the dried fruits push through and dominate with a sort of copper resonance that tilts more towards a red ale. There is a dry espresso profile in the after taste that goes some way to redeeming.

Hazy with a white head. Tropical fruit aromas and flavours with notes of peach. Very tasty.
