At Ferus Brewing after the Birmingham Stallions 🏈 game with family. "May the Fourth Be With You" celebration is going on here tonight. So many people dressed up for the outdoor showing of Star Wars movies. Plus there's beer!!!🍺
This is the fourth beer, the one on the far right. Black in color and swirls with a very deep viscosity. Strong smell of maple and bourbon. Indeed, very thick, a sticky coating in the mouth. The flavor produces a heavy maple combined with coffee, bourbon and some oak from the year in barrel. Finish turns sweeter, if that's even possible, and the alcohol is forefront and powerful.
This should be a beer I would like, but somehow it misses the mark. Not well balanced for my palate. The maple is too sweet, the bourbon alcohol a little too intense and the texture is too syrupy.
This beer has good qualities.
And could use a few adjustments to make it better.
But for now, it's not for me.

At Ferus Brewing after the Birmingham Stallions 🏈 game. This is the third beer from the left, the purple one. I was hesitant to choose this one, but it was recommended by the bartender.
It has a beautiful solid haze purple color. Smells fruity. Flavor is a sweet mixed berry fruit. Nothing artificial about this. It's not sour at all, it's a refreshing sweet dark berry tart. Really glad I tried this.

At Ferus Brewing after the Birmingham Stallions 🏈 game. This is the first beer on the left. Actually tried it second. Another amber from Ferus. A little more hearty, less sweetness. Added more bitterness to the finish than I would prefer. It's a decent beer but not very special.

At Ferus Brewing after the Birmingham Stallions 🏈 game. Had a great time with family and now here for their "May the Fourth Be With You" celebration. And beer!! 🍻 Great light saber duals.
Second beer on the left in a flight of four. Came a small 6 oz. tumbler with almost no head. Medium deep orange hazy color. Aroma of amber malt. Flavor seems rustic, has some earthy qualities. The finish adds a new, almost citrus tone.
Being one of my favorite styles, I was a little disappointed.

Finally made it to Ferus Artisan Ales in Trussville Alabama. It's my birthday so we went to Alabama hockey, that's not a typo, Alabama hockey and then the brewery.
A very mild milk stout. Creamy and has a bit of a liqueur characteristic during the finish. Nothing special but a treat out here on their beautiful outdoor courtyard.

At Blackstone with family after my granddaughter had a tough win at soccer. We're all here for pizza and beer. Had no idea there was a brewery in Trussville Alabama. I will be visiting them soon.
Ordered this Imperial milk chocolate stout hoping that this new brewery has succeeded. The double chocolate comes in strong and sweet. More of a dark chocolate than a milk chocolate and has a slight bitter bite at the end. Pretty good for a new brewery.
