Small Gods Brewing, which is a literary themed brewery, deserves some poetic waxing, but admittedly, it's too hot for even my verbally lucid blatherings. So, in a bold and unexpected move to find solace, I will have a beer.
A charming yellow gold in color and lightly coludy, it displays nicely. A decent white head forms atbpouring but recedes with time. Sparse lacing decorates the sides of my glass.
The aroma is a very pleasing example of what a wit/blanche should be. Promises of lemongrass, and certainly ginger rest comfortably amongst the spicy phenolic and yeast notes.
The flavor profile is of equal delight. Whilst still delivering the lemon notes, it plays the ginger one more loudly. A harmonic accompaniment to the phenolic spices. It bares a smooth, soft mouthfeel, almost creamy.
A very good beer.
The heat takes a solid thrashing from this thirst quencher.
After note... as this beer warmed, it produced a slight black pepper and maybe a sort of cucumber taste. Not bad, just interesting.
