Note: I had an Ultra Razz (raspberry wheat) in front of this but every time I tried to post it, I got an error message. I had to add that today/ the day after having this. Banana on the nose. On the buds... straight up, honest to goodness hefeweizen- no less, no more. I may appreciate it a tad more after the dominating raspberry of the previous one but I don't want to undermine this one. I purposely left a little of the previous raspberry wheat to add to this after tasting it and I'm pleased to report that it definitely enhanced the Ultra Razz by subduing it without dragging this one down.

Good, but where's the rye? Yes, it was there but I had to "look" for it. Had to add these after I got home: forgot my "device". I can't call it a phone since it only works on wifi. My phone is a flip. Only reason I have a "device" is my beer apps and bowling apps. Oh, and euchre.

I was hesitant to try this but since I'm paying by the ounce, why not. What better place to try a new brew, right? High foaming head that settled fairly quickly. Citrus on the nose- a blend of grapefruit, lemon, and tangerine. On the buds- wow!- tart. I was not expecting that. Very lemony. Not picking up any hops. This would be awesome on a hot summer day after mowing the yard.

Nose is...not off-putting but not exactly pleasant either. Flavor is not bad (hard for me to describe) but very low key. Not low key to the point of bland but subdued. Not one I'd seek out but not turn down either.

Nice light charred malt flavor dominates. Tad thin in mouthfeel.

Enjoyable. Touch sweet but not over the top and certainly within the "specs" of a brown ale.

Roasted malt on the nose and buds. Solid mouth feel. Slight bitterness to linger on the tongue.

A revisit and glad I did. Last time I gave it a 3 star but feel I was influenced by what I had drank before it. This go around I believe is more accurate. The coconut catches the nose first with traces of vanilla and coffee behind it. On the tongue, the coffee blonde hits first with the coconut right behind and the vanilla wisping in the background. Enjoyable.
