Nuttycombe Brewery
England

Cotleigh had been brewing in the West Country for over 35 years Unfortunately in September of 2021 the brewery was forced to close permanantly. Ross Nuttycombe, a well established and much admired publican who has owned the Star Inn at Watchet for around 12 years has now purchased the brewery and brewing started on the site again in May 2022, now under the new Nuttycombe Brewery brand. Company Description : Our first brew coincided with the Queens Platinum Jubilee and is named Sovereign. Using the sovereign hop and a Pale malt we produced the light ale at 4.3% abv as a one off special. We now have a core range of 4 beers with at least one monthly special and one quarterly special available. We are also now brewing the Cotleigh range, and after the purchase of Pitchfork Ales the RCH beers too.

Shame that the rescue act failed, they did some nice ales. Anyway, a decent drink. Floral hoppy aroma. Floral hoppy taste with a nice fruity note. Slightly bitter finish but enjoyable. Smooth and easy drinking session ale especially at the abv

No larking about the bird is the word. Enough of the bad puns/jokes and on to the proper review. Decent drink. Nice citrus aroma with a slight hoppy note. Creamy mouthfeel. Similar taste profile but with a subtle grapefruit tang. Slight hoppiness to finish with. Smooth and easy drinking session ale

Dark, smoky and smooth on the palate. I'm normally quite harsh on Nuttycombe because they've made some horrible beer, but this is good!

So many political analogies. The briefest of sweet notes followed by a sucker punch of bitterness. Not amazing. Good label.
