A supermarket purchase. Looks lucid, chestnut brown. Restrained carbonation. A creamy small-bubbled head on the top.
The nose spots a subdued olfactory provision only: bitter caramel and a nutty dash. Fortunately, the taste profile proves to be a bit more prominent than the scent although still not particularly bold. The components include bags of caramel malt, brown sugar, nut, modest grassy hops and a hint of milk chocolate. A tad sweet-leaning.
The finish is more or less identical to the first gustatory encounter.
The mouthfeel is medium, soft, smooth, lip-glueing and also marginally dry. A bigger body than I anticipated at 5 %. Enjoyable American Red.

Flight 4/4 (2) gives a velvety creamy lacing, basically no bubbles, just a moussy foam. Moderate biscuit and waffle in the air. The taste profile gives sweet-leaning fruity elements like cantaloupe, mango and mandarin but also biscuit, pale malt, waffle, faint candy and a grassy slam. Not ample though. Feels light, a tad pulpy, slightly candy-like, soft and smooth. Not a massive success but fairly nice anyway.

Flight 3/4 (2) shows a thicker lacing, again creamy with tiny bubbles all over. There's something grassy and herbal in the scent. Can't recognize it properly. Anyway, the taste profile is easy with pale malt, a tweak of bread, hops, a marginal resinous vibe and lemon pith. The mouthfeel is light, refreshing, moderately crisp and slightly drying.

Flight 2/4 (2) is decorated by a standard creamy lacing on the top. The olfactory supply? Pretty numb. I don't get anything. Pale malt, lemon pith, mandarin and a wink of biscuit land on my tastebuds. The impression is light, even light minus, still relatively clean, easy and balanced. And subtle. Obviously a decent meal accompaniment.

Hey, life is short, gotta go for flight #2. Because I can. And this place is not on my list of regular visits anyway.
This time on the Lager side. And one Tripel. And again, the beers don't differ much from each other as for the appearance. Clear gold again.
Flight 1/4 (2) displays a creamy, frogspawny lacing. A remote malty touch in the scent. The gustatory profile is easy and predictable with pale malt plus a slight amendment of hops. Perhaps a moderate citrusy touch somewhere in the background. The sensation is light, clean, balanced, refreshing but also a tad characterless. Very easy.

Flight 4/4 boasts the thickest long-lasting head, very creamy and moussy. Lovely! I spot pink grapefruit pulp, mandarin, biscuit and pine needle in the air. The taste profile puts forward pink grapefruit pulp, orange peel, a bit of mandarin, biscuit, resin and pine needle. A nice lineup of components! The sensation is medium-full, juicy, pulpy, pithy, a tad dry and moderately drying. I'm astonished! Again! Good beers here, I didn't see this happening!
And looks like this is my 100th African beer.

Flight 3/4 clears the center of the surface off the foam but a neat silky creamy lace ring adorns the sides. Now we have a silent olfactory presence! Whaaat?? Okay, let me sip. Not bad for an IPA. As if remote Bourbon hovered in the back of my mouth? This is a "Bourbon rye IPA" but what does it mean then? Bourbon barrel used somehow here? Idk. But now that I concentrate on this more carefully, I find faint vanilla, graham cracker, pale malt, dry grass, orange peel, lemon pith and cantaloupe. Feels light-medium to medium, a bit crisp, faintly tropical and even juicy. Somewhat dry and drying, too.
Quite professional! I'm surprised!

Flight 2/4 portrays a dense velvety lacing. Beautiful. The fragrance is quite restrained, perhaps a smaller medley of grapefruit peel and dry hops can be captured. The gustatory sphere is more distinctly IPA-like: grapefruit peel, lemon zest, grass, resin and a tad malt, as well. The sensation is light, crisp, dry and drying. Balanced. Delivers nicely!

My first ever đ°đȘ craft beer flight. Nairobi actually hosts a few craft beer places. Hakuna matata! Maisha ni mazuri! đș
I selected three IPAs and one Blonde. The appearance of all the four beers looks more or less the same. Clear gold. No need to repeat it in every review.
I'm supposed to start with the Blonde. Flight 1/4 shows a faint froth layer only. The scent gives Belgian vibes with malt, biscuit and a distant idea of inverted sugar syrup. The taste is relatively mild: marginally sweet-leaning malt, biscuit, cereal and a suggestion of Belgian yeast. The end brings in a moderate dry-hoppy twist. The mouthfeel is light, soft, smooth, balanced and easy. Only very modestly Belgiany. A nice thirst quencher anyway.
