Boxing Day 2️⃣6️⃣ nightcap. Pitch black and opaque as expected. Subdued carbonation. A cream-yellowish lacing, less than half a finger, and melts soon to nil.
Roasted malt, soot and raw licorice root are the first parameters that I find in the scent. A coffeeish aroma enters the podium right thereafter.
Roasted malt merges with lactose on the tongue. Furthermore, I can spot licorice, aniseed, coffee and raw cacao powder. As if a wink of vanilla followed in the shadows.
The body is full. The end is pretty identical to the actual taste profile but both lactose and the roasted element increase their intensity a bit.
The mouthfeel is full, deep, relatively creamy, soft and smooth. It's also faintly roasty and simultaneously lip-glueing.

My latest Hoptimaal box contains a lot of Tripels. Why not? Because I like them.
This Tripel is cloudy, a bit dirty dark orange. Restrained carbonation gives a pure white, fluffy froth that reaches two fingers. Interestingly, the descending foam leaves massive lacings everywhere it has touched.
Medium-sweet malt, candi sugar, fructose, a tad Digestive and a grassy vibe. Those are the key components in the air. Fairly familiar as to this beerstyle.
The malty sphere is actually sweeter on the tongue than in the fragrance. Biscuit, candi syrup, dried nectarine, orange peel, a small injection of grass and an alcoholic touch stamp the package. Standard. And pleasant.
The body clocks medium-full. Ends pretty identically to upfront. Someday you're gonna pay, you're keeping secrets; I can see in your eyes; can anybody tell me why the big aftertaste? Discovery; who has the chance to know it all?
The mouthfeel is medium-full, lip-glueing, somewhat intense, gluggable and marginally alcoholic. Balanced. Truly standard to the style.

Hyvä perusmakuinen Tripel. Ei moitittavaa.
